Segovia

Segovia’s Tourism Department continues to work to ensure that we can all enjoy and have access to Segovia’s tourist attractions. Consequently, all this information is now available on SignArte, a free app developed by the CNSE Foundation for the Elimination of Communication Barriers, and funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport and the ONCE Foundation.

The SignArte app enables people with hearing impairments to locate accessible cultural and tourist venues in any Spanish city they visit, providing information in Spanish and international sign language, as well as in Spanish and English.

From now on, users will also find information on museums and centres managed by Segovia’s Tourism Department, as well as on over a hundred cinemas, theatres, libraries, museums, natural sites, archaeological sites and historic venues across the country that offer accessibility services such as sign language interpreters, sign language guides, induction loops, subtitles, visual emergency services, etc.

In addition, SignArte includes the ‘Near Me’ feature, which shows users accessible cultural offerings within a radius of up to 100 km from their location, thereby enabling tourists visiting nearby cities such as Madrid or Ávila to have immediate access to Segovia’s tourist and cultural attractions.

The SignArte app is undoubtedly a highly useful guide for tourism, enabling deaf people to enjoy leisure, art and culture without communication barriers, and is available to download from Google Play.
