A mobile app developed by the Orange Foundation and GVAM as part of the Áppside project.
The app, designed for all users, includes audio and images tailored to the needs of people with visual or hearing impairments. It also contains useful information for people with reduced mobility.
It features four themed tours, a route providing information on monuments accessible to people with reduced mobility, and four options for downloading or accessing all the guide’s content online.
The first tour, from the Aqueduct to the Alcázar, is the most representative route, guiding us through the World Heritage city; it follows the main axis of the historic centre, starting at the foot of the Aqueduct.
The second tour, ‘The Jewish Quarter and the City Walls of Segovia’, showcases the city’s Sephardic heritage and takes in the city walls, which are amongst the best-preserved in Spain.
The third route – the Museum Route in the Barrio de los Caballeros – takes us to some of the city’s most iconic museums: the Esteban Vicente Museum of Contemporary Art, the Antonio Machado House Museum, the Episcopal Palace, the Rodera Robles Museum, the Quintanar Palace and the Zuloaga Museum
And the fourth tour will take us to the Eresma Valley, Clamores and the Royal Mint – a route through Segovia’s green belt, bringing visitors closer to nature, just a stone’s throw from the city’s historic centre, a World Heritage Site.
‘Segovia Accesible’ received support from ONCE in promoting the initiative, thanks to its inclusion in the lottery draw on 4 March 2015.
