The Royal Mint of Segovia is one of the oldest and best-preserved industrial buildings in the world.
By order of King Philip II, this technological marvel was built in the 16th century and housed state-of-the-art machinery that was used to mint the most perfect coins in the entire kingdom.
Today, the site has been masterfully restored to house a museum that recounts this history and explains in an educational and entertaining way the different minting systems used in this mint over the centuries.
In the museum's rooms, you can learn about the trades that were practised, the history of money, see some examples of coins made with the different systems, and in the smithy you can see the reconstructed machines and devices.
We invite you to discover the fourth monument of this World Heritage City, nestled in a place of extraordinary beauty, the Eresma Valley.
