The former Church of St Nicholas

Built between the 12th and 13th centuries, the Church of San Nicolás de Bari is an example of the Segovian Romanesque style.

It features a single-nave structure with an apse, and a second apse integrated into the bell tower, an architectural solution common in Segovia during the Romanesque period.

The Renaissance-style high altarpiece is preserved in the Chapel of the Tabernacle within the Cathedral, directly opposite the image of the Christ of the Marquises of Lozoya.

The sculpture of Saint Nicholas of Bari, which originally gave the church its name, is currently located in the Campo Chapel, in the Church of La Trinidad.

Today, the building serves as a municipal venue for cultural activities and will soon house the Romanesque Interpretation Centre.
