13th -15th centuries. A Dominican convent in the Romanesque style. This was the first male convent of the Order, founded by Saint Domingo de Guzmán during his visit to Segovia on Christmas 1218. Rebuilt by the Catholic Monarchs, they preserved “‘the Cave” (LA CUEVA), to where –as tradition has it- Saint Domingo would retire to pray and do penance.  The Gothic front was finished at the end of 15th century by Juan Guas. The building is currently the campus of IE University.
