Chapel of Cristo del Mercado

Designated a Site of Cultural Interest

Its construction dates back to the early 15th century, coinciding with the arrival of Saint Vincent Ferrer in the city. It is a simple structure, consisting of a single rectangular nave. Remnants of the original building include the pointed Gothic arches preserved on one of the outer sides, which were uncovered during the last restoration. It features a semicircular arch resting on jambs and topped by a triangular pediment.

The rusticated voussoirs framing the opening and the mouldings of the pediment constitute the only external decoration of the chapel, along with the mural paintings surrounding the doorway—now almost completely faded—depicting stylised architectural motifs and likely dating from the early 18th century.
