The San Francisco Barracks, situated at the foot of the aqueduct, houses the Segovia Artillery Academy Museum. Organised into four galleries —Portable Weapons and Miscellaneous Equipment, Materials, Rockets, and Science and Technology— it offers a comprehensive overview of the progress of this branch of the armed forces and of scientific knowledge over the last few centuries. In its various rooms, visitors can see everything from the first rifle manufactured in 1893 by the Oviedo Arms Factory to the Teruel rocket, as well as examples of devices that were revolutionary in their time, such as Watt’s engine or Colman’s manual calculator.

The building also houses one of the most outstanding geological collections in Spain. Located in the Science and Technology Hall, this collection comprises over 3,400 carefully inventoried and catalogued specimens that allow us to reconstruct the evolution of mineralogical and petrological classifications in Spain over the last two centuries, thus giving the collection significant scientific and historical weight.
